A former Masonic Lodge on West Lake Avenue could soon become an indoor recreation and events center.

The Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission approved a plan at its meeting Thursday for a developer to turn the old Masonic Lodge at 2900 W. Lake Ave. into a space for weddings, baby showers and other gatherings.

The building was built in 1972 as a Masonic Lodge and has 6,000-square-feet of space. It was purchased by Sanany Properties LLC in 2023 for $385,000.

The matter will go before the Peoria City Council on May 28.
