Former Louisiana State University football coach Les Miles is clear about one thing: He’s got more coaching left in him, and he’s willing to move if it means coaching again.
Just weeks after being fired by LSU, Miles put his six-bedroom, 6.5-bath mansion in Baton Rouge, LA, on the market. He’s asking for $1.8 million. It’s unclear if he’s planning on leaving the city to take a coaching job elsewhere.
The home is located in the gated community of Bocage Lake, in the heart of the city and roughly 15 minutes from Tiger Stadium. The 5,500-square-foot, French-style home exudes Southern warmth.

The home’s lower level is centered around a double-sided fireplace. On one side, a formal living room is framed by large windows looking out on the backyard. On the other side, there’s an open kitchen and family room that seem primed for daylong Saturday football viewing.

Miles, also known as “The Mad Hatter,” is one of the most successful college football coaches, winning 77% of his games at LSU. He was hired in 2005, leading his team to victory in the 2007 BCS National Championship over the Ohio State Buckeyes. Under his watch, 71 LSU players went on to be drafted by the NFL.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Miles said he’d like to return to coaching in 2017 and planned to travel to a number of NFL facilities in the coming weeks to study strategy and gather new ideas.
