Former London ISD teacher Amber Prince arrested for violating probation

The former London ISD teacher who pleaded guilty to having an improper relationship with a student was arrested after allegedly violating her probation.

Amber Prince, a 43-year-old former high school teacher who was arrested in March 2021, pleaded guilty last year to 10 counts of improper relationship between an educator and a student as part of a plea deal with the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office.

Prince admitted to having an improper relationship with a male student.

According to court records, the Community Supervision and Corrections Department recommended Prince’s probation be revoked on May 22 after claiming Prince violated multiple conditions.

The violation report states that Prince failed to appear for the corrections department on Feb. 7, failed to pay court fees and fines, did not abide by curfew, did not complete a felony victim impact panel, did not complete 120 hours of community service and did not allow computer software to monitor her internet activity.

The document also alleges Prince used obscene language with her community supervision officer by stating she “nit picks and digs to find things” and suggesting the officer “would have engaged in the same criminal behaviour (Improper Relationship Between Educator/Students) under similar circumstances.”

Prince is to be held without bond pending a hearing on the motion to revoke probation.
