Former Darlington County jail officer accused of using deodorant container to conceal contraband

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A former Darlington County corrections officer has been charged with misconduct in office after allegedly using a deodorant container to conceal marijuana, tobacco and rolling papers, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said.

Kilenna Michelle Wright, 39, was charged with furnishing contraband to prisoners and misconduct on office on Sunday. She was booked into the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.

Warrants from SLED allege Wright “furnished contraband items with the intent to furnish them to an inmate.”

Wright was released from jail at about 10:50 a.m. Sunday on a $55,000 bond, online records show.
