Former City-Parish contractor from Baton Rouge arrested in child exploitation case

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Homeland Security Investigations Baton Rouge arrested a man identified as a contractor for the City-Parish accused of distributing child sexual abuse material.

According to HSI, Blake Joseph Steiner was apprehended on Monday, May 20 after an investigation. The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit and East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office assisted with his arrest.

The City-Parish released the following statement on Thursday, May 23.

“Mr. Steiner was not a City-Parish employee but an employee of South Central Planning & Development Commission, a contractor for City-Parish. Mr. Steiner is no longer performing duties for City-Parish and we will ensure that operations continue as normal without interruption.”

Homeland Security Investigations New Orleans is seeking information from the public in connection with this case.
