Ohio State quarterback Jack Miller announced on social media Sunday night that he has entered the transfer portal.

The former Scottsdale Chaparral great said that he decided to leave Ohio State and "look at opportunities available to me to play the game I love."

Miller played sparingly at Ohio State since graduating from Chaparral and enrolling early at Ohio State in January 2020. He had committed to Ohio State in July 2018. He was among the nation's top recruited quarterbacks in high school.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Miller began his high school career at Scottsdale Christian, where he obliterated passing records, before transferring to Chaparral. Even though injuries plagued him, he had nearly 10,000 yards and 130 touchdowns in 38 varsity games.

Miller, a redshirt freshman, was third on Ohio State's depth chart this season, completing seven of 14 passes for 101 yards.

He was suspended earlier this month after being arrested on suspicious of operating a vehicle while impaired. He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless operation two weeks ago, and was reinstated by the team.

But he did not play in another game.

"I will always love my brothers and my coaches and wish them great success, but for me it's time to get on the field," Miller wrote on Twitter.
