Former Autumn Leaves memory-care facility under new management

May 8—SAVOY — A company that manages memory-care facilities in multiple states has added a local community to its portfolio.

Anthem Memory Care has assumed management of the former Autumn Leaves of Savoy, which will now be known as Savoy Place Memory Care. The facility is located at 406 Curtis Road.

"Anthem is 100 percent dedicated toward caring for those with memory loss and improving the quality of every resident's life," said CEO Isaac Scott. "We are excited to share our unique approach to meaningful engagement and becoming a part of the fabric of the community."

When asked what lead to the change in management, he said the facility's owners felt that its residents would benefit from the shift.

Anthem manages over 1,300 memory care beds in states across the U.S., including Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin, and the addition of the Savoy facility brings its portfolio to 20 properties, company officials said.

Under the agreement, Anthem will add regional staff, technology and training programs "to adapt the community to its approach to care."

According to Scott, Anthem is looking to hire a clinical services director. The company also plans to hire staff members to facilitate its "Pathways of Purpose" engagement program.

This program is an essential part of Anthem's mission of protecting, engaging and loving people with memory loss, he said.

"Pathways of Purpose embraces evidence-based practices that focus on enhancing well-being and treats activities not as 'busy work' but as life-enhancing interventions," Scott said. "Anthem's life-engagement strategies are created to bring joy into the lives of residents, their family members, and Anthem team members while alleviating the distress that comes from the experience of memory loss."
