Former ‘American Idol’ contender among final concerts announced for new Coast venue

Two more acts announced Monday round out the first season at the Sound Amphitheater in Gautier.

Coming Friday, Aug. 16 is Lauren Daigle, a contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter, best known for her song “You Say” and appearances on the TV show American Idol. Tickets go on sale Friday.

The Aug. 4 concert announced Monday is Dirty Heads and Slightly Stoopid with Common Kings and The Elovators. Dirty Heads, a band out of Southern California, plays a mix of hip-hop, reggae and rock for a unique sound.

Nashville-based promoter 46 Entertainment is partnering with the City of Gautier to bring “A-Level National Artists” to Gautier and pulled together a lineup that spans musical genres and includes pop, country, Christian music, reggae and more.

The full schedule is:

April 12 — KC and The Sunshine Band. Tickets are $20 for the opening night concert through Ticketmaster.

▪ April 19 — Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit with North Mississippi Allstars. Tickets start at $40 and run to about $250 for floor seats close to the stage

▪ May 24 — Justin Moore with Chris Cagle. Tickets start at $25 to $250 for front row seats

Aug. 4 — Dirty Heads and Slightly Stoopid. Presale starts Tuesday.

Aug. 16 — Lauren Daigle. Tickets go on sale Friday. Presale starts Tuesday.

▪ Sept 6 — Sam Hunt. Ticket sale date to be announced.

Sept. 28 — Melissa Etheridge and Jewel. Tickets start at $30.50. VIP packages run from $155 to $889.

Sound Amphitheater at 3855 Dolphin Drive is north of the former site of the Singing River Mall, off U.S. 90.

The 8,000 seat venue will have food trucks for all concerts.
