Former Alamogordo firefighter sentenced to 45 years in prison

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (KRQE) – After pleading guilty to producing child pornography, former firefighter Jason Ross-Lattion Fleming has now been sentenced to 45 years in prison. Fleming, 37, will have to serve five years of supervised release after his prison sentence and register as a sex offender.

In 2022, a federal grand jury indicted Fleming on accusations that he had been involved in a series of incidents with a 10-year-old while he was a firefighter. The child reported that Fleming had molested her and showed her child sexual exploitation materials, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

Following the allegations, state police searched Fleming’s home, and federal investigators executed a search warrant on Fleming’s cellphone, which revealed hundreds of images and videos of child exploitation, the DOJ said.

Fleming eventually pled guilty to the production of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct and providing child pornography to a minor. Fleming’s case is part of a larger, nationwide effort to prosecute child exploitation and abuse, called Project Safe Childhood.
