Former Alamogordo firefighter sentenced to 45 years in prison for making child pornography

Jason Ross-Lation Fleming will serve 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to production of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexual activity and providing child pornography to a minor, according to court documents.

Fleming who was an Alamogordo firefighter at the time he was first charged with the crimes has since been terminated from the department.

Court documents show that from Feb. 1, 2012 until Dec. 1, 2013, Fleming persuaded a minor to perform sexual acts on him while he photographed it with his phone. He was also accused of abusing a 9-year-old child he was babysitting in 2021.

On Dec. 9, 2021, New Mexico State Police executed a search warrant at Fleming's home, where phones, later found to contain child pornography he had created, were located.

The complaint against Fleming originated in 2022 when Homeland Security Investigations received information from New Mexico State Police that a 10-year-old in in Pinon, New Mexico reported abuse. Fleming was later indicted by a grand jury.

Upon release from prison, Fleming will serve five years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
