When Ford unveiled the new Ford Focus ST earlier this year, we knew it wouldn't come to the US, which is a shame. Now, Ford has unveiled an even-cooler variant of the Focus ST-the wagon. Yes, we're jealous of our European friends who get this.

Like the Focus ST hatch, the wagon gets two engine choices: a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 273 hp, and a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel making 187 hp. The gas engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic, while the diesel only gets the manual.

The Focus ST wagon retains the selectable drive modes, Recaro seats, electronic limited-slip differential, automatic rev-matching, and independent rear suspension of the hatch. It's basically just a stretched version of the hatch with more space in the back. It also looks a lot better.

In April 2018, Ford announced it would stop selling sedans and hatchbacks in the US, instead focusing (no pun intended) on crossovers, SUVs, and trucks. The Focus therefore got the axe. It's unlikely that we'd get this Focus ST wagon in the US, even if Ford decided to bring over the regular ST hatch. We never got the ST Wagon in the past.

Ford says the new Focus ST wagon will be available in Europe this summer. Pricing has yet to be revealed. Considering the extra medal, expect it to cost a bit more than the normal ST.
