Ford teams up with the Dallas Cowboys on limited-edition F-150

The limited-edition F-150 is on sale now at select Ford dealerships in Texas.

By appealing to fans of "America's team," Ford (F) is hoping to add to its appeal in the country's largest market for pickup trucks.

The automaker is teaming up with the Dallas Cowboys on a limited-edition F-150, on sale now at select Ford dealerships in Texas. The starting price is $41,925.

"Our Cowboys fans are among the most passionate in all of sports. We are proud to partner with Ford and Texas Ford dealers to bring this Cowboys edition F-150 to our incredible fans," said Jerry Jones, owner, president and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys.

Ford is selling 400 of the limited-edition F-150 pickups painted in the same shade of silver used on the team's helmets. The trucks will feature the Cowboys' star logo on the doors and tailgate, a molded heavy-duty cargo bed mat, and the floor mats.

This is not the first time Ford has produced a special-edition vehicle for a professional sports team. Last year, it sold 300 MVP edition F-150s to honor the Kansas City Royals' World Series victory. Ford has been the official vehicle of the Dallas Cowboys for more than 20 years.

Texas is the country's largest pickup truck market, with one of every four Ford trucks sold in the U.S. coming from the Lone Star State.
