Ford Recalls F-150 and Super Duty Trucks

Ford announced that it is recalling about 80,000 F-150 and Super Duty pickup trucks in America due to concerns that the windshield may not be properly bonded to the vehicle structure. The company warns that in a collision the windshield may not stay in place, increasing the risk of injury.

This recall affects 79,017 trucks in the U.S. and federal territories, 6,986 in Canada, and 1,347 in Mexico.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.

Owners will be notified beginning in early April 2021.

The Details

Vehicles recalled:

  • 2021 Ford F-150 vehicles built at the Dearborn Truck Plant from Oct. 27, 2020, to Feb. 3, 2021.

  • 2020-21 Ford Super Duty vehicles built at the Kentucky Truck Plant from Oct. 13, 2020, to Jan. 23, 2021.

The problem: The windshield may not be properly bonded into its frame.

The fix: Dealerships will remove and reinstall the windshield using the proper procedure.
