Ford Motor Co. unveils sneak peek at resurrected Bronco model during O'Hara event

Apr. 7—Removable doors that stash in the back, a slide-out tailgate table and optional 35-inch tires are some of the raddest features of the 2021 Ford Bronco, a model resurrected by the car manufacturer after a 25-year hiatus.

The Ford Motor Company gave car enthusiasts a brief glimpse of its beloved Bronco during a nationwide Road Show that stopped April 7 in O'Hara.

In short, the manufacturer went all-in for potential buyers who love open-air, mud-flying, off-road adventures.

The scene-stealer was the First Edition, a limited two- and four-door model equipped with 2.7L EcoBoost engine, 310 horsepower, removable doors, GOAT (Goes Over Any Terrain) modes and a fully open-air roof.

Only 7,000 First Editions were made, and that was after Ford doubled its initial run of 3,500.

The vehicle sold out within an hour, Ford Regional Sales and Service Manager Paul Bucek said.

The Pittsburgh region was among limited stops for the sneak peek of the First Edition Bronco.

The standard model starts at $29,900; the tricked-out Sasquatch package tops $64,000.

Doors on the off-road vehicle can be modified by hand in a matter of minutes. Each door weighs 60 pounds and can be unhinged with two bolts.

"All of the doors come off and can be stored in the back," Bucek said. "If you're at the beach, you don't have to leave the doors sitting in the sand. You can stash them in the back and drive off."

Driver and passenger side mirrors are attached to the car frame and stay put when the doors are removed.

The event was hosted by the Neighborhood Ford Store in the parking lot of the Greater Pittsburgh Auto Dealers Association in RIDC Park.

Also on site were the Bronco Sport, available now, and the Badlands model, which is equipped with marine-grade vinyl and rubber floors for serious adventurers who want to hose out the interior after a muddy ride.

Dual tops, ambient footwell lighting and a wireless charging pad are among the 200-plus accessories that can be built into any package.
