Food truck ransacked, $9K in equipment stolen
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A food truck owner and community activist is left reeling after his truck is targeted by a thief.
Keedran Franklin’s food truck, Pizza Dis Pasta Dat, was burglarized on Saturday morning outside of a Midtown business off Poplar Avenue. Franklin poured years into building his business, creating opportunities for those struggling to find work.
“What I do is create a business to help guys with felonies who have been in trouble and locked out of being able to get jobs in this community,” Franklin said. “I was angry, enraged, and sad at first. Now, I have more understanding.”

Franklin says a thief made off with nearly $9,000 worth of essential equipment, including the pizza oven, plumbing, and even mixing bowls.
The culprit was caught on camera rolling away the pizza oven in a wheelchair, then returning to take a nap, leaving Franklin’s business in shambles.
“Seeing the guy I can tell addiction probably taken over with this,” Franklin said. “Maybe he didn’t have money to survive. Why else would you steal? Setting fires, falling asleep, probably in some type of slumber high. He had enough time to go and come as he wanted to.”
So far, no arrests have been made.
