Food Truck Fridays returns in Pinckney this week with a dozen entries
PINCKNEY — Pinckney is set to bring Food Trucks Fridays back for a second year, offering patrons tasty treats from a dozen mobile eateries.
The monthly event takes place from noon to 8 p.m. Friday in and around Putnam Township Square. Additional events are slated for July 15 and Aug.19.
"They were a smashing success (in 2021). Just lots of fun. It was crazy how many people came," Pinckney Putnam Hamburg Hell Chamber of Commerce President Rick Beaudin said.
Food trucks this week are expected to include Habz Top Dogz, Two Brothers BBQ Mac Shack, Smoke Doctor, Heaven on a Roll, Tracy B Fully Loaded, Captain Wood Fire Pies, Wonkin Chef Wonkin, Cruisin Cafe and Razzy's LLC.
Additionally, for dessert and other sweet treats, there will be Harvest Kettle Corn, Mystery Box and Rise & Grind. However, according to Beaudin, the event is more than food trucks.
Other activities include:
Business/art expo
Putnam Township Fire Department and Public Safety - vehicles/displays/ demonstrations
Obstacle course
Corn hole
Kid's games
Programs by Pinckney Community Public Library and United Way
Cardio Drumming
Entertainment: at 5:15 p.m., Jarrett Cogswell and at 7:15 p.m. MaskEra Acapella
The Pinckney Farmers Market will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, and July 15, Aug. 19 and Sept. 23 by the community gardens, at 135 W. Main St.
Food Truck Fridays was created because of events being canceled throughout the pandemic. According to Beaudin, the chamber didn't host Art in the Park for two years.
Last year, he and the PPHHCC Vice President Mike Szafranksi, of Pinckney State Farm, put together a plan for Food Truck Fridays.
"They were extremely successful and every food truck sold out at every event," Beaudin said.
