Fond du Lac's Hamilton Park welcomes music garden spearheaded by Girl Scout Natalie Johnson. Check it out Oct. 16

FOND DU LAC — Planned improvements to Hamilton Park, 83 Forest Ave., have included a music garden, which the public will soon be able to experience.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will celebrate the new amenity at 11:30 a.m. Oct.16 at the park with City Manager Joe Moore, City Council President Keith Heisler and Natalie Johnson from Girl Scout Troop 8052, who led the project in partnership with the city as part of her Gold Award initiative.

Johnson started the project with two instruments, and the city could provide the rest with the support of grant funding. She and the city leaders will speak at the event, alongside Pam Sippel, director of operations at Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac.

If weather is bad, the ribbon-cutting will be postponed to Oct. 23.
