Folsom officer rescues injured hawk and baby squirrels

(FOX40.COM) — The Folsom Police Department is giving a big round of applause to one of their animal control officers for her continued efforts in rescuing injured wildlife.

In the course of a week, an officer the department only identified as “Officer Bradley” helped save an injured hawk and baby squirrels that had fallen from their nests.

Folsom is an area with a lot of urban wildlife like coyotes, deer, the occasional mountain lion and more.

The police department wants to remind residents that while they will come to help sick or injured wild animals they ask the public to not call if animals are just being animals.

“Please don’t call about healthy creatures that are just doing their wild life thing unless that healthy creature is actively threatening you or other people or pets,” the police department wrote in a Facebook post. “If they are just walking through the neighborhood, but are not harming anyone on the way through, just smile and watch them walk on by.”
