Flour Bluff ISD announces deputy superintendent, interim principal

Flour Bluff High School Principal Linda Medley is moving to a district leadership role.

The Flour Bluff ISD Board of Trustees named Medley as deputy superintendent Tuesday. Deputy superintendent is a new role in the district.

At Flour Bluff High School, lead assistant principal Amy Seeds will step into the role of interim high school principal.

Medley has worked at Flour Bluff ISD for 12 years, serving as Early Childhood Center assistant principal and curriculum supervisor, Flour Bluff Intermediate School curriculum supervisor, Flour Bluff High School assistant principal and principal.

"The establishment of the deputy superintendent position aligns with our strategic plan to strengthen the stability of our administrative team," Superintendent Chris Steinbruck said in a Wednesday evening news release. “As we prepare for the next decade, it's essential to have a cohesive and resilient team that is committed to serving the entire Flour Bluff community.”

Medley holds a superintendent certification, master's degree in educational management and a bachelor of science.

“I am thrilled to work alongside Superintendent Steinbruck,” Medley said in the news release. “I look forward to providing a district-wide collaboration that fosters a community of improvement and a high standard of excellence.”

In another news release, Steinbruck said that Seeds' appointment as interim principal will ensure continuity and stability for students, faculty and staff.

Seeds has been employed for her entire 26-year educational career at Flour Bluff ISD.

Seeds was a teacher and coach at Flour Bluff Junior High School and Flour Bluff High School, a physical education teacher at Flour Bluff Elementary School and assistant principal and principal at the Early Childhood Education Center.

She is a Flour Bluff alumni and resident. During her time at the district, she started the elementary running club program, which has since expanded to the intermediate campus, and revitalized and directed the youth basketball program for third through sixth grade.

Seeds holds a superintendent certification, a master of science degree and a bachelor degree in exercise and sports science.
