Florida trio accused of six-figure theft operation in St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS – Three Florida men face federal charges after they allegedly stole hundreds of dollars in goods out of St. Louis County.

Prosecutors have charged Benjamin Andres Ovalle-Taibo, 31; Jonathan Vejar-Caro, 31; and Henry Jose Ferreira-Perez, 20, with one count each of transportation of stolen goods.

A federal indictment accuses all three men of transporting more than $5,000 in stolen goods.

According to court documents, Ferreira-Perez and his associates traveled from Florida to St. Louis County on June 9, 2023, where they stole hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of items. A motion claims he arrived in the United States from Chile in February of 2023.

Ferreira-Perez appeared in court Thursday and pleaded not guilty. The other two are in custody in Florida.

The FBI and Ladue Police Department have investigated this case.
