Florida man kills girlfriend, drives to police station with her body in car, officers say

(WFLA) — A Florida man is accused of killing his girlfriend and then driving her body to the police station, where he turned himself in.

Detectives told NBC affiliate WTVJ that Alexander Roque shot and killed his girlfriend, who has not been identified, inside the car before he drove to the police station. Investigators didn’t say what led up to the shooting.

Roque was arrested outside of the Florida City Police Department on Saturday night. He was booked into jail on Sunday and faces second-degree murder charges, online jail records show. Florida City is just outside of Homestead.

A doorbell camera video shows Roque knocking on one of his neighbor’s doors days before the alleged killing.

A neighbor told WTVJ that Roque warned her that he would be playing very loud music. She said she found it odd but appreciated the notification, the news station reported.

Another neighbor told the news station that Roque had tinted his home’s windows black so no one could see inside.

Both neighbors told WTVJ that they case shocked them. They said they did not know Roque’s girlfriend.

No other details were immediately released.
