Florida man barricades himself after abducting girlfriend, forcing her into car: police

WILDWOOD, Fla. (WFLA) — Multiple law enforcement agencies worked to find a Florida woman after she was violently abducted by her boyfriend Thursday night, officials said.

Wildwood Police Chief Randall Palmer said at about 11 p.m., officers were called to a home in the Villages for a domestic disturbance.

Operators of Luke Bryan’s Nashville bar say missing student Riley Strain was only served ‘1 alcoholic drink’

According to Palmer, the victim was visiting a family member’s home when she said she did not want to leave with her boyfriend, James Savage.

“That point, he grabbed her by the hair, forced her to the ground, struck her several times, forced her in the vehicle, and fled the area,” the chief said.

Surveillance video showed the suspect attacking the victim multiple times as he cursed at her.

Friday afternoon, Wildwood police said the victim was found by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. She was said to be safe.

As of the latest from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Savage was still barricaded at a home in the north end of The Villages.
