Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Lets Patient Control Mammorgram

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – The Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Simpson Breast Health Center is reshaping the mammography experience as the only hospital in the Tampa Bay area to offer the new GE Senographe Pristina 3D mammography technology with the Dueta remote.

The Dueta is a remote control the patient uses to determine the amount of compression that is comfortable for them. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and early detection through a mammogram is the first step to helping patients fight the disease.

“The Pristina with Dueta sets the bar for diagnostic confidence and performance,” said Dr. David Rippe, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills chief of radiology. “This technology delivers superior diagnostic accuracy at the lowest patient dose for all FDA-approved digital breast imaging. We’re extremely excited to have the Pristina with Dueta at the Simpson Breast Health Center and are confident it will have a positive impact on our patients’ health and peace of mind.”

Studies show many women are anxious and tend to become tense during a mammogram. The tension can cause breast muscles to contract and can impact the quality of the images. The Pristina with Dueta allows patients to now feel comfortable for a faster and smoother 3D mammogram experience.

“We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent patient care experience,” said Alexa Stinnette, Simpson Breast Health Center Manager. “The addition of the Dueta remote will help women feel more in control during their mammogram and enhance the communication between the patient and the mammographer.”

The Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Simpson Breast Health Center is the only dedicated breast care center in East Pasco County and offers a full range of imaging and treatment options. For more information and to schedule an appointment for a mammogram, click here or call (813) 779-6278.
