Florida horse leads officers on chase into college parking lot

OCALA, Fla. (WFLA) — A group of Florida police officers had to stop a horse from “foaling around” early Sunday morning after it escaped its home.

The Ocala Police Department said at 4:30 a.m., Officer Bellamy was writing a report at the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet on Southwest 34th Avenue when she got a “surprise visit” by a large horse.

According to police, the horse eluded officers for a short while as it led a chase down SR-200.

Eventually, the officers managed to corral the horse in a parking at at the College of Central Florida. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office later arrived to take the horse to a safer area while they would search for the horse’s owner.

As of the latest update, the horse is back home safe.
