A brand-new, modernized 1967 Shelby GT500 could be yours for $219,000
As of today, a quick check of classic car auction sites shows that the price for a restored 1967 Shelby GT500 generally starts around $100,000 and climbs from there. We found one going for as much as $275,000. But lo and behold, here's a brand-new '67 Shelby GT500 that looks as good as the original but features many modern components. It'll set you back at least $219,000.
It's the product of the folks at Revology Cars in Orlando, Fla. They've started with a new, Ford-licensed steel body atop Revology's own rear-wheel-drive "M58" platform and used plenty of authentic parts, including Shelby and GT500 badges, upper and lower side scoops and Shelby sport bucket seats. From there, they've added many contemporary components. The hood is fiberglass, for starters, while the headlights, park and reverse lamps, interior and instrument gauges all get LED lights.
They've also installed an all-aluminum Ford/Roush Performance 5.0-liter supercharged and intercooled V8 rated at 600 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, just for fun.

Other modern standard features include a three-link rear suspension, limited-slip differential, electronic parking brake and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Inside, you get brushed aluminum trim, power windows, a leatherette-covered dash, Shelby wood rim steering wheel with a GT500 horn button, and remote keyless entry. So it's clearly not your father's GT500.
The $219,000 starting price is for the six-speed close ratio manual transmission. A six-speed automatic costs $222,840 before you start adding options, which include a 7-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth, rear camera and either Apple Car Play or Android Auto. Also available are Alcantara headliner and sun visors, a power amp and subwoofer, and Sirius XM radio.
"Most original cars are rarely driven," says Tom Scarpello, Revology's president and founder. "The Revology is designed to be driven anywhere, anytime. It really depends on your priorities. If you love to drive, our car is for you."
