Florence to host mayoral candidate forum on June 4

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — The League of Women Voters of the Florence Area will host a Democratic forum next month for three candidates vying to be the city’s next mayor.

Mayor Teresa Myers Ervin, Councilwoman Lethonia Barnes and William Williams will go head-to-head in the forum scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 4 at the Francis Marion University Carter Center for Health Sciences Haigh Porter Auditorium.

The event is open to the public and people can email questions to the candidates by May 31.

South Carolina primary elections are scheduled for June 11. Early voting starts on May 28 and continues through June 7. Early voting centers are open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

In addition, the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. on May 31. Polling places are open on Election Day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
