Flooding in Canal Fulton prompts moving of Stark Parks eclipse event

CANAL FULTON – The Towpath to Totality event slated for Monday at St. Helena Heritage Park has been moved due to flooding.

The event will be held along Canal Street starting at 10 a.m. with various eclipse-themed activities.

Canal Fulton and Stark Parks collaborated on the event. Canal Street will be closed between Cherry Street and Market Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors can park at the St. Helena Heritage Park. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional parking is available at the Lock 4 Trailhead at 6575 Erie Ave. NW.

City Manager Dan Bucher said the parking lot is dry and water has receded from the park but it is a "soggy, sloppy mess." Visitors are welcome to utilize the park for viewing, he added.
