A flood watch is in effect for northeast Ohio, including Medina, Summit and Portage counties, through Thursday morning, the National Weather Service said.

A flood advisory was in effect until 9:15 p.m. for parts of Trumbull, Mahoning, Geauga and Lake counties, with a flash flood warning in effect for Lake County.

A line of storms heading south across Lake Erie is expected to move into the region through the night, bringing periods of heavy rain and the potential for flash flooding.

About 0.6 inches of rain has fallen at Akron Municipal Airport today.
