Flea market season underway in Dickson City

DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s a rite of spring happening nearly two weeks early at a local drive-in before the change in seasons.

Sunday was the opening day for the Annual Weekend Flea Market at the Circle Drive-in along the Scranton Carbondale Highway in Dickson City.

The Flea Market has been a tradition at this drive-in for about five decades.

While the weather wasn’t the best, it did not stop deal-seekers from searching for a great buy or two.

Wilkes-Barre St. Patrick’s Parade steps off

That’s good news for flea market goers, as well as vendors seeking to sell their stuff.

“I started this as a hobby, I’ve been doing flea markets most of my life just to do something, and I enjoy people, I enjoy the interactions, I like bargaining with people, it’s fun!” said Saylorsburg resident Anthony Mennella.

“It’s important to the communities to have everyone come out, come together. We have our return vendors. We have return buyers. We have some new vendors. We have some new buyers. It’s a lot of fun” Circle Drive-In Assistant Manager CJ Langan explained.

The Giant Flea Market at the Circle Drive-In runs Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until the first snow falls toward the end of the year.

In case you were wondering, movies at the Circle Drive-In begin March 22.
