Flags placed in Cumberland County cemetery honors veterans ahead of Memorial Day

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– With Memorial Day this weekend- a cemetery in Cumberland County is honoring the veterans laid to rest there.

Flags were placed throughout the grounds of Mount Olive Cemetery in New Cumberland Thursday on the graves of those who served. Families and friends also took part.

“I can’t tell you exactly what it means a hell of a lot I’ll put it that way,” Korean Ware veteran Herbert Kern said. “That’s the main thing, I’m still here and I can talk about it nobody has tried to stop me yet.”
