Palm Coast, Flagler Beach and Flagler County will hold ceremonies commemorating Memorial Day on Monday, May 28.

Palm Coast

n The city's ceremony will start at 8 a.m. Monday at Heroes Memorial Park, 2860 Palm Coast Parkway N.W. Mayor Milissa Holland will be the emcee, and speakers will include Holland, Veteran Services Officer Lt. Col. (ret.) David P. Lydon of the Flagler County Chapter of the Military Officers of America, and Edward Beier of American Legion Post 115. Also included will be music by the Community Chorus and the Coastal Florida Police and Fire Pipes and Drums, and a memorial wreath will be presented by representatives of local veterans organizations. Flagler County

n The county's Memorial Day ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Monday in front of the Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell, and will feature American Legion State Commander Steve Shuga, a much-decorated veteran who retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1995 after 20 years of service in such places as the Western Pacific, Saudi Arabia, Zaire, Japan and Kuwait. The ceremony will also include the singing of the national anthem and "God Bless the USA"; local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; and the placing of a wreath at the Veterans' Monument in front of the Government Services Building. Flagler Beach

n The Flagler Beach ceremony is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Veterans Park, at the intersection of State Road 100 and A1A. The event will include the presentation of colors by U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps from Matanzas High School, singing of the national anthem, a Flagler Woman's Club dedication and a solo bugle tribute to veterans. Memorial Day closings

n All city offices for Palm Coast, Bunnell and Flagler Beach will be closed on Memorial Day, along with all Flagler County offices, the Flagler County Public Library and Flagler County Schools. The Flagler Beach Library will be closed Saturday, May 26, and Monday, May 28.
