Five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola commits to Ohio State's 2024 recruiting class

Ohio State got a major recruiting coup late Monday night when five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola committed to the Buckeyes for the 2024 class.

Raiola, who recently transferred to Chandler High School in suburban Phoenix, is ranked eighth overall and third among quarterbacks in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is the top-rated prospect in 247Sports' own rankings.

Chris Singletary, 247Sports' national recruiting expert, described Raiola as a "young player who has very few holes in his game even with two more years of high school left. Ahead of the curve mechanically and possesses the arm strength that puts him in elite company."

Raiola is the first commitment for Ohio State in the 2024 class. Having an elite quarterback pledge early should cause momentum for the class.

Raiola's father, Dominic, played 14 years as a center for the Detroit Lions after an All-American career at Nebraska.

Raiola threw for 3,341 yards and 32 touchdowns as a sophomore last year at Burleson High School in Texas, according to MaxPreps. Burleson's coach is former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna.

Raiola had offers from schools including Alabama, Georgia, Oregon and USC. Raiola made an unofficial visit to Ohio State on April 1.
