Elite 2016 guard Tyus Battle of Gill St. Bernard's (Gladstone, N.J.) ended his recruitment Monday by announcing a commitment to Michigan via Twitter.

Battle, a 6-foot-6, 200-pound combo guard, is regarded as the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2016 class by 247Sports. Michigan won out over Duke, Louisville and Syracuse among others.

Wrist and foot injuries have limited Battle's opportunities over the past 16 months. He did earn a spot on USA Basketball's U17 team last summer and came home from Dubai with a gold medal.

In 2013-14 at Gill St. Bernard's, Battle averaged over 22 points per game and earned a spot on the MaxPreps Sophomore All-American Team.

Battle joins a 2016 Michigan recruiting class that already includes a pair of big men over 6-10 in Austin Davis of Onsted (Mich.) and Jon Teske of Medina (Ohio).
