Five railroad crossings closing for maintenance in Danville next week

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Five railroad crossings in Danville are going to be completely closed to traffic next week for track maintenance.

The City of Danville said Norfolk Southern will be closing the crossings starting Monday, with each closure expected to last up to two days. The crossings being closed are on Martin, Pries, South, Van Buren and 3rd Streets.

Work may extend across several crossings at one time, city officials said. Drivers are advised to use caution around the work zones and take an alternate route to get to their destinations. Detours will be posted.
