Martez Ivey is congratulated after making his college choice known.

If you're just waking up on the West Coast – or sleep late anywhere else – here are five important things you missed early on National Signing Day.

Check out the MaxPreps National Signing Day page for video and information on all top recruits

1. Auburn invades Florida
Evidently the hiring of former Florida coach Will Muschamp has made a huge impact, as Auburn landed 5-star defensive end Byron Cowart and 4-star standouts Ryan Davis and Jeff Holland, all from Florida. That has vaulted the Tigers four spots to No. 8 in the team recruiting rankings according to 247Sports.

2. UCLA is on a serious rise
With three out-of-state commitments from previously uncommitted standouts (4-star tight end Chris Clark, 5-star running back Soso Jamabo and 4-star linebacker Roquan Smith), the Bruins have risen 10 spots to No. 9. However, Smith is reportedly wavering on his commitment, according to Rivals' Jake Reuse, and has not signed.

3. Ivey stays home
Five-star tackle Martez Ivey, the No. 2 recruit in the country, didn't opt for Auburn, but instead stayed home to Florida.

4. Two-time POY signs
As expected, two-time MaxPreps National Player of the Year Kyler Murray, a 4-star quarterback, signed with Texas A&M. There was a brief scare when Murray showed up late.

5. No surprise for Thompson
The nation's No. 1 recruit overall, defensive lineman Trenton Thompson from Westover (Albany, Ga.), stayed near home and signed with Georgia.
