Five more candidates file for political seats in Cleveland County
Five people filed for municipal offices after the Cleveland County Board of Elections extended the filing period.
Previously 53 candidates filed for a multitude of offices, but the board extended the filing period for seats which had no candidates.
The latest residents to throw their hats into the political ring are:
Ellen Poston, Belwood Board of Commissioners (Unexpired Term)
Clint Upton, Fallston Town Council
Jonathan Beck, Mooresboro Town Council
Eddie Elliott, Polkville Board of Commissioners
Lea Galloway, Polkville Board of Commissioners
No candidates filed for Mooresboro mayor or the remaining Lattimore Alderman seat. Those decisions will be made by write-in votes.
