Quote: "Enough funds have been raised for the first USV. It will be named ‘Kherson’.
This is a unique and classified Ukrainian development. The price includes [the following items]: a drone equipped with an autopilot system; video subsystems, including night vision; special means of communication protected from the influence of enemy electronic warfare equipment; backup communication modules and a combat unit. In addition, a ground-based autonomous control station, a transportation and storage system, a data centre, and a few special surprises for our enemies."
Details: Fedorov also said that one in five Russian missiles is launched from a ship.
Funds are being raised for 100 Ukrainian-made surface drones. One device costs UAH 10 million [roughly US$271,000].
"They could significantly change the situation in the waters of the Black Sea. Small and fast, [these] drones are capable of successfully attacking Russian ships worth hundreds of millions of dollars," Fedorov indicated.
Background: On 5 November, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would launch a new fundraising campaign on the United24 platform to raise money to purchase a fleet of unmanned surface vessels (USVs, or marine drones).
