The Umbrella Academy star Justin H. Min's new romance movie, The Greatest Hits, has released a first trailer.

Earlier this month, some first-look images of the time-travel film were released, but now a new trailer gives a more detailed preview before the movie lands on Disney+ on April 12.

The Greatest Hits follows Harriet, played by Bohemian Rhapsody's Lucy Boynton, a woman who is still grieving for her boyfriend who died in a car accident two years earlier.

However, she discovers that listening to certain songs through her record player gives her the ability to literally travel back in time and return to memorable moments with her partner.

The synopsis reads: "While she relives the past through romantic memories of her former boyfriend, her time-travelling colliders with a burgeoning new love interest in the present (Min). As she takes her journey through the hypnotic connection between music and memory, she wonders – even if she could change the past, should she?"

The music-themed movie features songs from the likes of Nelly Furtado, Beach House and Roxy Music, with the trailer using Jamie xx and Romy's track 'Loud Places' to demonstrate how Harriet's time-travelling skills manifest in the film.

"Ever since the accident certain songs literally pull me back into the past," Harriet says in the new clip.

Later, she questions: "What if I can save him? What if I can change that moment and the accident never happens?"

The Greatest Hits also stars new Superman lead David Corenswet as Harriet's late boyfriend, and Atlanta's Austin Crute who, from the trailer, seems to play a friend of Harriet and is on hand to give her much-needed advice.

The film is written and directed by Ned Benson, who is behind The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby trilogy and was one of the writers of Black Widow.

Ahead of the movie's streaming release, The Greatest Hits will premiere at SXSW today (March 14), before getting a limited release in US cinemas in early April.

The Greatest Hits will be available to stream on Disney+ from April 12.
