The entire world tunes in to watch the Olympics every year — but the only spectator that really matters is your mom.

Steele Johnson is a 20-year-old American diver competing in this summer's Rio Olympics. This is Johnson's first time competing at the Olympics, and the athlete naturally wanted to show off to his mom. So when the camera panned to Johnson, Johnson cheesed — and cheesed hard.

"Look Mom I'm on TV!" Johnson wrote.

"I saw you and took a picture," his mother responded.

Johnson began diving at the age of seven. He'll be competing this Friday at Aug. 19 at 4 p.m, EST — while his mom watches.
