The First RWB Porsche Built in the United States Is for Sale
Purchasing a new Rauh-Welt Porsche is quite the endeavor. The ordering process, in addition to the undoubtedly high costs, is extremely complex, and involves flying the sole builder, Akira Nakai, to the donor car's location to build your perfect RWB. If you're not into waiting on a line for years to get your dream Porsche built, this might be the car for you.
This 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 was the first 911 to undergo the RWB treatment in the United States, according to the seller. Painted in Mignonette Green, it features the comically oversized fenders synonymous with the Rauh-Welt name. Additionally, it comes equipped a sweet duck tail spoiler, and a full color-matched roll cage.
Aesthetics aren't the only things making this 911 stand out. In the engine bay sits a 3.6-liter turbocharged flat-six, which, according to the seller, sends over 450-horsepower to all four wheels. A full KW race suspension and big Brembo brakes hide behind a set of Rotiform wheels, which are wrapped in some R-compound Toyo Proxes R888 tires.
With an asking price just shy of $220,000, all of that customized Porsche goodness doesn't come cheap. But even laying eyes on a one-of-a-kind custom RWB is something few people can say they've done, let alone own one. And hey, it's still cheaper than a Singer.
