First Responder Friday: Donnie Grimsley Jr.
DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — It’s time for another edition of First Responder Friday as News13 honors Grand Strand and Pee Dee first responders.
This week’s nominee is Fire Chief Donnie Grimsley Jr. from Dillon County.
Chief Grimsley is an engineer for the Dillon Fire Department, president of Dillon Rescue and an EMT who volunteers alongside his father at the coroner’s office.
He also works full time with the Dillon County Fire Department, where he was recently promoted to fire chief of stations 1 and 5.
Those close to him say to know anyone with the last name “Grimsley,” is to know they are heroes. Grimsley has three daughters who worship the ground he walks on and they understand how important it is for him to go help when necessary.
