First hurricane of the season will be named Alberto, researchers say

NEW YORK (PIX11)– Researchers predict this year’s Atlantic hurricane season will be “extremely active” and have forecasted 23 named storms.

The storm has already been named despite not knowing when the first one will form.

The People’s Ball returns to Brooklyn Public Library this weekend

It’ll go by Hurricane Alberto. After that, Beryl and then Chris are on the alphabetical list.

Other names include Kirk and Nadine.

Names are used in a six-year rotation. So, if some from this year sound familiar, they might have been used in 2018.

If you are wondering how hurricanes get their names, you can find out here.
