2023 Louisville homicides: Woman dies after shooting in Park Duvalle

More than 100 homicides were reported in Louisville in each of the past three years. The city's first homicide of 2023 was reported on the first night of the year. On the second day of January, two other men were shot to death.

LMPD and other departments have investigated at least 119 homicides so far in 2023.

For comparison, in 2022 Louisville Metro Police investigated 160 homicides, with other Jefferson County police departments investigating a handful of homicides as well.

The Courier Journal tracks homicides reported by LMPD and other local departments to memorialize victims, follow the cases and keep the public informed. Below is a list of homicides police have reported, with additional information about the cases and the response.

Woman dies in shooting on South 32nd Street

A woman died after a shooting Dec. 19 in the Park Duvalle neighborhood.

Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting around 7:30 p.m., LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. When officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1700 block of South 32nd Street, they provided first aid until EMS arrived at the scene. EMS treated the woman before transporting her to the University of Louisville Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating, Ellis said.

Man dies in shooting on Stony Ridge Road

A man died after a shooting Dec. 10 near Jeffersontown.

Sixth Division officers received a call about a shooting at the 4100 block of Stony Ridge Road around 6:10 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside his residence, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

The man was pronounced dead after EMS was called to the scene, Ellis said. LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident.

2 men die in shooting on Breckenridge Lane

Two men died after a shooting Dec. 8 on Breckenridge Lane.

Sixth Division officers received a call about a vehicle running outside an apartment at the 3300 block of Breckenridge Lane around 3:50 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found two men inside the vehicle who were unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

The men were pronounced dead after EMS was called to the scene, Ellis said. LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the deceased as 28-year-old Rashon Tyler Holloway and 27-year-old Troy D. Young Jr.

Woman dies after shooting in Shadyside Drive

A woman died from a gunshot wound Dec. 8 in Louisville's Shadyside Drive, Louisville Metro Police said.

Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting about 8:45 a.m. in the 3500 block of Shadyside Drive where they found a woman with a gunshot wound LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Emergency medical services pronounced her dead at the scene.

Ellis said the Homicide Unit is investigating and "all parties are accounted for."

Man dies after South Louisville neighborhood shooting

A man died Dec. 6 after a shooting in the South Louisville neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fourth Division officers responded to a shooting call about 1:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Iowa Avenue where they found a man who had been shot several times, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Emergency medical services pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Ellis said the Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting and no one has been arrested in connection to the homicide.

Man dies after Elliot Avenue shooting

A man died Dec. 2 after a shooting in the Russell neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at about 7 p.m. in the 2400 block of Elliot Avenue, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. Officers found a man that had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitchell said the LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. There were initially no known suspects.

Man dies after Moore Court shooting

A man died on Dec. 2 after a shooting on Moore Court, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Moore Court and found a man with gunshot wounds, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Officers performed first aid measures, but when emergency medical services arrived at the scene, they pronounced him dead.

Ellis said the LMPD Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 23-year-old Damion Taylor.

James A. Brown, Jr.

A man died on Nov. 29 after a shooting on Syndey Renee Way, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Third Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 10:45 a.m. in the 6300 block of Syndey Renee Way and found James A. Brown, Jr. with a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. He said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency medical services arrived.

Ellis said the LMPD Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.

Michael A. Lige

A man died Nov. 30 after being shot in the Algonquin neighborhood.

Police officers responded to a shooting call at the 1600 block of South 11th Street around 1:35 p.m. and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified Michael A. Lige as the victim.

Frank Jones III, 26, was arrested the same day and has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of first-degree assault in connection to the incident.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.

Jordan Trotter

Jordan Trotter died Nov. 13 after being shot in Shively.

Officers with the Shively Police Department responded to a call about a shooting around 8:50 p.m. in the 1900 block of Rockford Lane and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, Chief Emery Frye said. He said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as Trotter, 26.

Police are investigating.

Antwawn Shackleford

Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a shooting at 413 E. Muhammad Ali Blvd., Building A, at 8:03 p.m., Nov. 11, to find a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a Dosker Manor apartment.

The responding officers administered first aid until EMS could arrive, LMPD reported.

EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 39-year-old Antwawn Shackleford.

Man dies after suffering gunshot wound at Suga Land Gentleman's Club

A man died Nov. 11 after being shot at a gentleman's club near Dixie Highway, Louisville Metro Police said.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at Suga Land Gentleman's Club, 3503 7th Street Road, around 3:30 a.m., according to spokesman Aaron Ellis. When officers arrived, they said they found a man inside the business suffering from a gunshot wound.

Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.

Amy Skelton

Amy Skelton died Nov. 8 after injuries sustained in the Okolona neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Seventh Division officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 5000 block of Greenbridge Way at approximately 7:15 p.m. and found a woman suffering from "multiple blunt force trauma," LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

"This appears to have been a domestic incident," Mitchell said.

The victim was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital were she died due to the injuries sustained, Mitchell said. She was later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as Skelton.

The LMPD Homicide Unit later arrested a suspect, 38-year-old Rashawn Betts, in connection to the homicide.

Man dies after shooting on Dixie Highway

A man died Nov. 7 in the University of Louisville Hospital after a shooting on Dixie Highway, Louisville Metro Police said.

Second Division officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert, that was later upgraded to a report of a shooting, at approximately 11:35 p.m. in the 1100 block of Dixie Highway, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and rendered first aid.

When emergency medical services arrived, they took the victim to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died, Ellis said.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide and no one has been arrested in connection to it. The victim has not been identified.

Man shot on Johnsontown Road

A man died Oct. 29 after being shot in the 5700 block of Johnsontown Road.

Around 11 a.m., Louisville Metro Police were called to assist emergency medical service providers with a person down under an overpass, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

When officers arrived, they learned that EMS had located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's identity has not been released.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating. There are no known suspect at this time, Ellis said. The victim's identity has not been released.

Man dies in alley on West Hill Street

A man was found dead on Oct. 29 in the rear alley in the 1700 block of West Hill Street, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

LMPD responded to a call for service around 4 a.m., where officers discovered an unresponsive man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Ellis, LMPD’s SWAT team served a search warrant in a home near the scene. As officers were clearing the location, they found a man outside behind a home suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to University Hospital for injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating. The men have not been identified.

Donovan Reese

A man died on Oct. 26 after being shot in Louisville's Parkland neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police stated.

Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at 3:37 p.m. in the 2700 block of West Kentucky Street and found a man "suffering from penetrating trauma sustained from apparent gunshot wounds," said Matthew Sanders, a spokesperson with LMPD.

Officers rendered aid until emergency medical services took him to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Sanders said.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating. There are no suspects arrested in connection to the shooting.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as 19-year-old Donovan Reese.

Crystal Fultz

A woman is dead and a man has sustained minor injuries after an Oct. 22 shooting in the 1500 block of Berry Boulevard.

Louisville Metro Police responded to the call around 12 a.m., where officers discovered two adults had been shot. Both were transported to University Hospital, where the woman died of her injuries.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said all parties have been accounted for, and the case is being investigated by the LMPD Homicide Unit.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the woman as 45-year-old Crystal Fultz and listed her cause of death as a gunshot wound.

Christopher Mayes

A man is dead after an Oct. 15 shooting outside on private property near Fox Den Billiards in the 3800 block of Frankfort Avenue.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said officers responded to the call of a shooting around 2:50 a.m. and found a man with gunshot wounds.

Emergency services pronounced the man dead on the scene, Ellis said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as 30-year-old Christopher Mayes and listed his cause of death as gunshot wounds.

Man dead after Zorn Avenue shooting

A man is dead after an Oct. 14 shooting on Zorn Avenue.

Louisville Metro Police officers responded to the call of a business robbery at approximately 4:30 p.m. Police found there had not been a robbery but were advised shots had been fired at a Valero gas station, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Ellis said no one was found at the scene but a man was brought to University of Louisville Hospital by private means with a gunshot wound and died from his injuries.

1 dead, 1 injured after shooting in Hazelwood neighborhood

A man is dead and another suffered non-life threatening injuries after a shooting in Louisville's Hazelwood neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting approximately 6:40 p.m. on Oct. 10 in the 4000 block of Taylor Boulevard and found two men injured by gunshot wounds, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Officers treated the victims until emergency medical services arrived and took the victims to the University of Louisville Hospital. One of the victims was injured with a non-life threatening gunshot wound and the other man died after arriving to the hospital, Ellis said.

The victims were not identified and there is no suspect arrested in connection to the shooting.

1 person dead after shooting in Taylor Berry neighborhood

A man who police believe is in his late teens died on Oct. 10 after a shooting in Louisville's Taylor Berry neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 4:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of Thornberry Avenue and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Ellis said emergency medical services transported him to the University of Louisville Hospital where he later died.

The victim has not been identified, and there are no suspects in connection to the shooting.

William R. Martin Jr.

A man died Oct. 5 after a shooting on Louisville's Kaufman Lane, Louisville Metro Police said.

Third Division officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 6:50 p.m. in the 5000 block of Kaufman Lane where they found a man with a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. When emergency medical services arrived they pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as 33-year-old William R. Martin Jr. and listed his cause of death as gunshot wounds.

1 man dead after shooting in Portland

A man is dead after an Oct. 4 shooting, Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

LMPD officers responded to a call around 7:00 p.m. from the University of Louisville Hospital that a man with gunshot wounds had been brought there by private means, Mitchell said. No scene was initially identified, though police later found the shooting took place near North 20th Street and Portland Avenue.

The man died shortly after he was brought to the hospital, police said.

Police arrested 19-year-old Micah Mattison and 19-year-old La’Zario Carr and charged them with murder in connection to the shooting, Mitchell said.

Charl E. Hertzog

A man was found dead in the East End after an Oct. 2 shooting.

Around 11:30 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the call of a shooting at the 6400 block of Duroc Avenue, where they found a man with a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Emergency services pronounced the man dead at the scene, Ellis said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the victim as Charl E. Hertzog, 23.

Police arrested 20-year-old James Small and charged him with second-degree manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence, according to court records.

Miguel Ricardo and Giovanni Rodriguez

Miguel Ricardo and Giovanni Rodriguez were found dead following an Oct. 2 shooting.

Officers from Louisville Metro Police responded to a call of a reported shooting around 3:50 a.m. at the 600 block of Douglas Park, said Aaron Ellis, an LMPD spokesperson. Officers found the two men to have gunshot wounds.

Emergency services pronounced both men dead on the scene, Ellis said.

LMPD charged 40-year-old Yunior Rodgriguez with two counts of murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a defaced firearm in connection with the shooting, Ellis said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Ricardo, 55, and Rodriguez, 17.

Police confirmed that the men were Rodgriguez's father and son.

Man pronounced dead at hospital

A man was pronounced dead Sept. 30 while being transported to the hospital, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call at approximately 3:30 a.m. about a shooting victim who arrived at Mary and Elizabeth Hospital on their own. When they arrived, officers were told a man arrived at the emergency room bay in a van, but was pronounced dead inside the vehicle, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Ellis said LMPD was determining the shooting location between two areas of interest in the 1400 block of Haskins Avenue and in the 1300 block of Huntoon Avenue.

Jeremiah Hurt

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office stated a man died on Sept. 27 in Louisville's Shively neighborhood.

Shively Police responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 8:01 p.m. in the 4000 block ofValley View Drive and found an 18-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound, Jordan Brown, a spokesperson with Shively Police, said. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified him as Jeremiah Hurt.

"This is not believed to be a random act of violence, nor is there any indication that there is a present danger tothe community," Brown said.

There are currently no suspects detained in connection to the homicide.

Woman dead on scene on West Jefferson Street

A woman was pronounced dead on the 1800 block of West Jefferson Street on Sept. 25.

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the call of a woman down around 1:15 p.m., where they found a woman who was dead, according to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

The cause of death is undetermined.

Coreleion Toogood, 23, was arrested Sept. 29 in connection to this homicide and charged with one count of murder, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. He said Toogood was also charged with "unrelated traffic offenses of reckless driving and operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license."

Donaida Rodriguez-Hernandez

Donaida Rodriguez-Hernandez was found dead Sept. 24 on the 1700 block of Wilson Avenue.

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department conducted a welfare check around 1:30 p.m. when they found Rodriguez-Hernandez dead, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the woman as Rodriguez-Hernandez, 44, and listed the cause of death as "pending."

It was determined after an autopsy that foul play was suspected, police said.

Kaynell Pate

Kaynell Pata was killed in a shooting the morning of Sept. 10 at 29th and Cedar Streets, according to a release from Louisville Metro Police Department.

Around 9:15 a.m., LMPD officers responded to an incident where they found a man shot several times, said LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as 58-year-old ]Pate. His cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds.

There are no suspects at this time, Mitchell said.

Teenager dies after shooting in Algonquin neighborhood

A teenager died Sept. 5 after being shot in Louisville's Algonquin neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Second Division officers responded to a ShotSpotter report call at approximately 11:40 a.m. and it was later upgraded to a call about a shooting in the 2100 block of West Gaulbert Avenue, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. He said officers found a teenager that had been shot and they helped him until emergency medical services arrived.

He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries in the afternoon, Ellis said.

Colby Banks

A man died Aug. 27 at the University of Louisville Hospital after a mass shooting.

Around 3 a.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the call of a shooting at the Southern Restaurant and Bar, 301 W. Market St., where they found a man had been shot and later died in the hospital from his injuries, officials said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 35-year-old Colby Banks.

Terrance Bethel

A man was pronounced dead at the scene Aug. 27 after a mass shooting at 301 W. Market St.

Around 3 a.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the call of a shooting at the Southern Restaurant and Bar, where a man was found dead at the scene, officials said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 37-year-old Terrance Bethel.

Man dies after shooting in Louisville's Russell neighborhood

A man died on Aug. 25 after a shooting in Louisville's Russell neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 2 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Chestnut Street and found a man suffering with gunshot wounds, said Dwight Mitchell, spokesperson with LMPD. He said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitchell said a second person was also shot and was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mitchell said the Homicide Unit is investigating and that "all parties involved appear to be accounted for."

Teenager dies on First Street

A teenager was found dead Aug. 23 at the 4500 block of South First Street.

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a call of a person down inside a vehicle around 11:30 a.m., LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

On arrival, police located a 17-year-old who was pronounced dead at the scene. No foul play was suspected, police said.

No arrests have been made, police said.

David Moore

A man died on Aug. 22 after a shooting in Louisville's Noe Way, Louisville Metro Police said.

Sixth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 2:30 p.m. and found a man with gunshot wounds in a backyard of the 3300 block of Noe Way. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 38-year-old David Moore from Bon Air.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. Nobody has been arrested in connection to the homicide, officials said.

Jeron L. Miles

One man is dead and another suffered non-life threatening injuries after a shooting on Aug. 18 on Prestwood Drive, Louisville Metro Police said.

Sixth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at about 11 p.m. in the 3400 block of Prestwood Drive and found two men outside injured by gunshots, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. He said officers gave medical assistance before emergency medical services arrived.

Both men were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital. Jeron L. Miles, 20, died from his injuries after arriving at the hospital, and the other man was suffering from non-life threatening wounds, Ellis said.

Ellis said the Homicide Unit is investigating and detectives were speaking with a person of interest.

Antawane M. Wallace

A man died Aug. 18 after a stabbing in West Louisville, Louisville Metro Police said.

First Division officers responded to a call about a stabbing at approximately 2:30 a.m. near 26th and Chestnut streets and found a man with stab wounds in a parking lot. Although emergency medical services aided him, Antawane M. Wallace died at the University of Louisville Hospital after arriving.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

Machir T. Miller, 49, was arrested on Sept. 28 in Greenville, Texas on a warrant for murder and first-degree wanton endangerment, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. He said the United States Marshals Service and the Greenville, Texas Police Department were informed of the arrest.

Jeremi Keith Floyd

Jeremi Keith Floyd, 35, was found dead Aug. 12 after a shooting in Newburg.

Sixth Division officers responded to a shooting report near 5401 Indian Oaks Circle at around 11:45 p.m., LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said. Police found three men who had been shot. Floyd was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two victims were taken to University Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

There are no known suspects at this time.

Zonte' Holbrook

A 22-year-old man was fatally shot in the 11200 block of Pyramid Road on Aug. 11, Louisville Metro Police said.

Seventh Division officers responded to reports of a shooting around 1 p.m., LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said. Zonte' Holbrook was pronounced dead on the scene. There are no known suspects in the shooting, and LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident.

Martha Perez-Silva

Martha Perez-Silva, 21, was found dead Aug. 6 after being stabbed at an apartment complex.

Around 9:15 a.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a call of a woman down at an apartment complex on the 2100 Block of Biljana Drive, according to LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley.

After interviewing neighbors, LMPD discovered that a "loud, violent fight" had been heard in the woman's apartment, Smiley said. Perez-Silva was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, and her cause of death was stabbing.

Police detained Perez-Silva's boyfriend, Felipe Jesus Santos-Florencia was charged with one count of murder.

Man found fatally shot in Louisville's Clifton Heights

A man was found shot Aug. 2 in Louisville's Clifton Heights neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fifth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Idlewylde Drive and found a man who was shot, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident and the victim has not been identified.

Benjamin Moore was arrested on Aug. 3 in connection to the shooting, LMPD said. He was arrested by the Clark County, Indiana sheriff's office and is being held at the Clark County Jail pending his extradition to Kentucky.

Moore is charged with murder, a release said.

Ricky Kemp

Ricky Kemp, 31, was found dead July 31 after a shooting in the Deer Park neighborhood.

Fifth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 1500 block of Bardstown Road around 3 a.m., according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. Officers found two men and a woman in serious condition after being shot. All three victims were taken to the University of Louisville hospital, and Kemp later died of his injuries at about 3:45 a.m.

There are no suspects.

Christopher Salmon

Christopher Salmon, 32, was found dead July 29 after a shooting in the Shawnee neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 399 block of Shawnee Terrace. They found a man who had been shot.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

On July 30, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified Salmon's cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. There are no suspects.

Makel Coleman

Makel Coleman was killed July 26 in a shooting on Hackel Drive.

Third Division officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 6500 block of Hackel Drive around 3:15 a.m., according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Aaron Ellis. Officers found Coleman suffering from a gunshot wound upon arrival. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead.

LMPD's Homicide Unit will be handling the investigation, and detectives are canvassing the area. There are no suspects.

Joshua Davidson

Joshua Davidson was killed July 26 in a shooting in the Shawnee neighborhood.

Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 500 block of Louis Coleman Jr. Drive around 12:45 a.m., according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Aaron Ellis. Officers found Davidson suffering from a gunshot wound and gave him first aid until emergency management services arrived on the scene.

EMS arrived later and pronounced the man dead. LMPD’s Homicide Unit will be handling the investigation, and detectives are canvassing the area. There are no known suspects.

LMPD arrested a 16-year-old Sept. 20 and charged him with murder, robbery, possession of a handgun by a minor and fleeing or evading police.

Adult dead on Brashear Drive

A person was found dead in the 1600 block of Brashear Drive on July 23.

When Louisville Metro Police's Second Division officers arrived on the scene around 3 p.m., the adult was "obviously deceased," said Aaron Ellis, an LMPD spokesperson.

The adult's age, sex and cause of death are currently unknown. LMPD’s Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation.

Chase Jeffrey Mead

Chase Jeffrey Mead, 26, is dead following a hit-and-run at 1630 Mellwood Ave.

Fifth Division officers responded to a call about an "injury collision" around 2:50 a.m. July 23, said Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson.

Mead was riding a scooter when an eastbound vehicle struck him and kept driving, Ellis said.

By 2:55 a.m., Mead was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.

Man killed at 26th and Madison

A man was killed on July 18 in a shooting in Louisville's Russell neighborhood.

LMPD got the call at about 8:50 p.m. and officers found a man who had been shot at 26th and Madison streets. He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital and was pronounced dead soon after arriving.

LMPD's homicide unit is handling the case. The man who was killed has not yet been identified.

Shooting on Place Rouge

A shooting on July 15 in the 900 block of Place Rouge left a man dead.

Police were called to the scene at about 11 p.m., according to LMPD. A man who had been shot was taken to the hospital with injuries that were believed to be non-life-threatening, but he was pronounced dead the following morning.

Shooting on S. 41st Street

A man was killed on July 15 in a shooting in the 100 block of South 41st Street.

LMPD officers responded to the scene at about 5:40 p.m. that day, a department statement said. A man who had been shot was pronounced dead on site. The incident "appears to be domestic in nature," the statement said.

Mozell Issacc Johnson Jr.

Mozell Issacc Johnson Jr., 23, is dead following a shooting July 9 in Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 9:20 a.m. at 2012 Wilson Ave. and found a man with a gunshot wound, Aaron Ellis, a Louisville Metro Police spokesperson, said. Emergency medical services arrived later at the scene and pronounced him dead.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as Johnson.

The Homicide Unit is handling the investigation and no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.

Alonzo Hearn Jr.

Alonzo Hearn Jr., 33, died after a July 4 shooting in the Jacobs neighborhood.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at the intersection of Craig and Strader avenues at about 2:30 a.m., Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. They found Hearn Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds, and Louisville Metro Emergency Management Services took him to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died shortly after arrival just after 3 a.m.

All parties have been accounted for, and LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, Ellis said.

Temika Hunt

Temika Hunt, 42, was found dead in an apartment July 3 in the 7300 block of Monsey Circle.

Louisville Metro Police Department officers were conducting a welfare check at the apartment after a foul odor was reported. Officers entered the apartment, where they found Hunt and John Whiteside Jr., 55, dead with gunshot wounds.

It appeared that Whiteside Jr. had shot Hunt, then died by suicide, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis. The department's Homicide Unit is investigating.

Ashley Yates

Ashley Yates, 35, died after a shooting June 30 in Westport Village, the Lyndon Police Department said.

Several agencies, including the Lyndon Police Department, Louisville Metro Police and St. Matthews Police, responded to a call about a shooting a little after 8 p.m. in the 1300 block of Herr Lane, Lyndon Chief Robert Schroeder said. He said bystanders were giving her medical attention and then emergency medical services arrived and started treating her.

Yates died at the University of Louisville Hospital from a gunshot wound.

James William Booher Jr., 38, was arrested in connection to the homicide, Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson with Louisville Metro Police, said on Sept. 26. He said Booher was charged with one count of Murder (Facilitation.)

Gwendolyn Smith

Gwendolyn Smith, 43, died June 30 after a shooting in the Southside neighborhood.

Third Division officers, Louisville Fire and Rescue and Louisville Metro Emergency Management Services responded to a report of an overdose at 127 Cambridge Drive, according to court records. EMS took Smith to Norton Audubon Hospital where she later died.

A July 1 autopsy revealed that Smith had been shot in the chest, and the Jefferson County Coroner's Office determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound, the report said.

Police documents said Charles Webster, 42, negligently fired a handgun in the basement of the residence, and the bullet struck the ceiling and light fixture above him before striking Smith. He was charged with reckless homicide June 30 in connection to the case.

William Grant

William Grant, 34, died June 30 after a shooting in Louisville's Phoenix Hill neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting after 12:30 a.m. in the 400 block of East Muhammad Ali at Dosker Manor and found a man who had been shot, LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley said. Grant was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide and there are currently no arrests, Smiley said.

Man dies at hospital after shooting at Poplar Level Road and Belmar Drive

A man died in the hospital after a June 27 shooting near Poplar Level Road and Belmar Drive.

Around 7:20 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the report of a shooting, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

Police found a shooting scene but no victim, Ellis said. Witnesses told officers the man was transported to Audubon Hospital privately and arrived there “alert” and ”conscious.”

He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment where he later died from his injuries, police said. Police said all parties are accounted for.

Man dies after shooting on 26th and West Madison

A man died after a June 26 shooting in the area near 26th and West Madison streets.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the report of a shooting when they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Samuel L. Crowder Jr., 18, was arrested on Aug. 18 in connection to this homicide, Ellis said. He was charged with one count of murder, according to court records.

Man dies after shooting on West Broadway

A man died after a June 26 shooting on the 1000 block of West Broadway.

Around 7:15 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the call of a shooting when they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

There are no known suspects, police said.

Man dies in hospital after shooting on Strawberry Lane

A Hispanic man died in the hospital after a June 24 shooting on the 6700 block of Strawberry Lane.

Around 9 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the report of a shooting where they found Christopher Fuentes with a gunshot wound, according to LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley.

Fuentes was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in serious condition and later died, Smiley said.

Two minors were arrested in connection with the murder, Smiley said. One 13-year-old female was charged with reckless homicide after she turned herself into the police. A 15-year-old boy was charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a minor, police said.

Lonnie D. Love Jr

Lonnie D. Love Jr., 17, died after a June 20 shooting on the 1500 block of Cypress Street.

Around 9:30 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the call of a shooting when they found Love suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

Officers located a second adult male with gunshot wounds, and he was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries, Ellis said.

There are no known suspects, police said.

Charles A. Evans Jr.

A man died following a June 17 shooting on the 4300 block of South 3rd Street.

Around 10:15 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the scene and a man who'd been shot, according to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as 51-year-old Charles A. Evans Jr.

Evans was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he died from gunshot wounds, according to the coroner.

There are no suspects at this time, police said.

Tommy Slaughter Sr.

A man was pronounced dead after a June 14 shooting on South 3rd Street.

Around 11:15 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the report of a shooting at the 4700 block of South 3rd Street, where they found 42-year-old Tommy Slaughter Sr. shot, according to spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

There are no known suspects, police said.

Amoni Dejesus

A man was pronounced dead after a June 14 shooting on Avalon Springs Drive.

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a shooting call around 10 p.m. at 7443 Avalon Springs Drive, where they found 22-year-old Amoni Dejesus, according to spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

There are no known suspects at the time, police said.

William M. Hines

A man died June 6 after a shooting on Brook Bend Way, Louisville Metro Police said.

Seventh Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of Brook Bend Way and found a man who had been shot, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

A car found in a pool at the location of the shooting is connected to the homicide, Ellis said. The investigation is ongoing.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting. No suspects have been arrested.

The man who was killed was later identified as 21-year-old William M. Hines.

Victor Chavez

One man is dead after a June 4 shooting near the 7400 block of St. Anthony Church Road.

Around 11:30 p.m., officers from Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a shooting call and found 52-year-old Victor Chavez, according to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell and the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds, said the coroner.

Carlos Emilio Galeano-Fugueroa, 34, was arrested June 5 in connection to the homicide. He was charged with murder and robbery.

Jordan Qualls

A 21-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene after suffering a gunshot wound in a June 3 shooting in Shively.

Around 2:30 p.m., officers from the Shively Police Department responded to the call of a shooting at a residence near the 2500 block of Ralph Avenue, according to a release from department spokesperson Sgt. Jordan Brown.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Jordan Qualls.

A suspect was arrested on location quickly after the shooting and charged with murder, Brown said.

Jeffrey M. Bizzle

An adult man is dead after a shooting around 4:30 a.m., June 1, at the intersection of 1st and Jacob streets.

After Louisville Metro Police Department officers arrived, they located 38-year-old Jeffrey M. Bizzle who had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from department spokesman Dwight Mitchell.

There are no suspects.

Amanda Miller

Amber Miller, 37, died after a shooting May 29 near the 400 block of East Broadway.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on the 400 block of Finzer Street before moving to Broadway, where they found Miller suffering from gunshot wounds, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

Emergency services transported her to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she later died, police said.

LMPD's Homicide Unit will handle the investigation. There are no suspects, Ellis said.

Deante Alexander

A man was pronounced dead May 27 at Louisville's Chickasaw neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Second Division Officers responded to a call about a shooting after 1 a.m. at the 3500 block of Grand Avenue and found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds, LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley said.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Deante Alexander, 30.

Smiley said the homicide unit is investigating the killing and they believe somebody may have seen or heard something since the homicide was in a residential neighborhood.

Breona Brown

A woman died and a man was injured in a shooting in Louisville's Brownsboro Zorn neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fifth Division Officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 2 p.m., May 26, in the 655 block of Country Club Road, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. He said officers found a woman with one gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene and a man with multiple gunshot wounds that were non-life-threatening. The man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Breona Brown, 30.

Ellis said officers are still determining if there is a connection between the two victims, but said it is possible they both lived around the area where the shooting took place.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide and there are no suspects arrested in connection to the shooting.

Jason Strombringer

A man was pronounced dead May 25 after a shooting in the 9600 block of Arrowridge Drive, Louisville Metro Police said.

Seventh Division officers responded to a shooting call around 7:30 p.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. The man, identified as 66-year-old Jason Strombringer, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency management services.

Zaira A. Ferraiuolo, 32, was arrested that same day in connection to the homicide. She is charged with one count of murder, Ellis said.

According to court documents, Ferraiuolo confessed to killing Strombringer. She said "she walked into the victim's bedroom with a handgun, magazine, and ammunition" and got into a verbal argument with the victim, a court document says.

Javon Bailey

Javon Bailey died May 19 after a shooting in the Park Duvalle neighborhood.

LMPD Second Division officers responded to a shooting call at about 2 p.m. at 1603 Olive St. where they found Bailey shot, according to department spokesman Dwight Mitchell.

Bailey was brought to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died of his injuries around 2:30 p.m.

There are no suspects, and the Homicide Unit is investigating.

Nicholas Feather

Nicholas Feather died May 19 after a shooting in Fern Creek.

LMPD Seventh Division officers responded to a call about a shooting around 1 a.m. in the 9100 block of Beulah Church Road where they found the 39-year-old Feather suffering from gunshot wounds, department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Emergency medical services was called to the scene, and Feather was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival around 2 a.m. All parties appeared to be accounted for.

Jason R. Ashby, 38, was arrested and charged with murder on Aug. 31 in connection with Feather's homicide, Ellis said.

Man killed in shooting in the Park Hill neighborhood

A man died May 18 after a shooting in Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood.

LMPD Second Division officers responded to a call about a person down approximately at 1:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Wilson Ave. where they found a man in his 20s suffering from a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency medical services arrived. The victim has not been identified.

No arrests in connection to the shooting have been made and the Homicide Unit is investigating.

Trent Taylor

A man died following a May 14 shooting at the Shively Animal Clinic.

Officers from the Shively Police Department responded to the scene at 2401 Dixie Highway around 6:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Jordan Brown. He said an altercation had escalated into a shooting.

Trent Taylor, 21, was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died from a gunshot wound, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

All parties involved are accounted for, and there are no suspects "outstanding," Brown said.

Demontae Jakwan Tyreek Marshall

Demontae Jakwan Tyreek Marshall, 22, is dead following an altercation Saturday night outside of a business in Fourth Street, Louisville Metro Police said. Four others were injured.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting around 11 p.m. at the 600 block of South Fourth Street. There, they learned several people were involved in an altercation that started inside of a business and then moved outdoors, LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley said. She said the investigation revealed the people involved in the dispute started exchanging gunfire.

The Jefferson County Coroners Office said Marshall was pronounced dead at the University of Louisville Hospital. The other victims, two men and two women, were taken to the hospital where one man is in critical condition, Smiley said.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. There have been no arrests in connection to the incident.

Man found dead on Burnett Avenue

A man died May 10 after a shooting near the 2100 block of West Burnett Avenue.

Around 7:45 p.m., LMPD officers responded to the report of a shooting and found an adult man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital and later died, according to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

There are no suspects, police said.

Man killed in West Market Street shooting

A man died May 10 after a shooting near the 4100 block of West Market Street.

Around 12:45 a.m., Louisville Metro Police officers responded to the call of a shooting and found an adult man with gunshot wounds, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis. He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital and died a short time after arriving.

Police said there are no suspects.

Man found dead at Greenwood Avenue

A man was pronounced dead at the scene May 9 after a shooting.

Around 8:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police officers responded to the call of a shooting near the 3000 block of Greenwood Avenue, where they found an adult man with gunshot wounds, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis. Emergency services pronounced the man dead on the scene.

There are no suspects, police said.

Lawrence Lauff Jr.

A man was was found dead May 9 after being shot in the Shelby Park neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at South Preston Street and Marret Avenue around noon, when they found 49-year-old Lawrence Lauff Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later identified the cause of death as a gunshot.

There are no suspects, police said.

Eric Tuyishene

An adult man was found dead May 4 after being shot near the 500 block of Douglas Park.

Officers responded to a shooting around 1:45 a.m. where they found two adult men who had been shot. Eric Tuyishene, 20, received fatal injuries while the other was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Louisville Metro Police Department Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

There are no suspects, police said.

Jo'Cori Harris Jr.

A man was pronounced dead May 3 after being shot in the Jacobs neighborhood.

Around 1 p.m., Fourth Division officers responded to a call of a shooting at the 2400 block of Nichols View Court where they found 30-year-old Jo'Cori Harris Jr. with fatal injuries, according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jacori Harris of Louisville was arrested on charges of with murder (domestic violence) and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, police said May 10.

Corionte Fante, 19, was arrested on May 26 in connection to the homicide. He was charged with one count of murder and one count of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Jacky Joe Woodard

Jacky Joe Woodard died on April 28, two weeks after an assault in Louisville's Shawnee neighborhood.

Second Division officers responded to a call April 15 about a man down on the street in the 300 block of 42nd Street where they determined he was suffering from blunt force injuries, LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said. The man was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died.

The Jefferson County Coroners Office identified the victim as Woodard and cited blunt force injuries as the cause of death.

Smiley said Tony Glasper was arrested April 16 in the case and was charged with first-degree assault. She said a murder charge is pending.

According to the arrest citation, Woodward was last seen getting into a car with Glasper, and Glasper told police he assaulted him with a tire iron. Officers found blood and a tire iron when they recovered the car.

Nathaniel Webster

A man was pronounced dead on April 28 after being stabbed in Louisville's Russell neighborhood.

First Division officers responded to a call about a stabbing at 10:30 a.m. on the 2600 block of West Market Street and found a man suffering from a stab wound, LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said. He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital and was pronounced dead that afternoon, she said.

The Jefferson County Coroners Office identified the victim as Nathaniel Webster and cited multiple sharp-force injuries as the cause of death.

Smiley said 36-year-old Tyrone Eugene was arrested and charged with one count of murder.

Surveillance video from the location where Webster was found showed Eugene stabbing and striking him multiple times. When he was taken to the Homicide office, he confessed to stabbing Webster.

Adult man found dead on Cypress Street

An adult man was found dead April 23 on the 1600 block of Cypress Street, according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

Around 8 a.m., officers responded to the report of a person down when they found that a man had been shot, Mitchell said.

The victim was later identified as Marcus Kyle Reid, 62.

Later on April 23, 31-year-old Antoine D. Roach was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon in connection with the case, LMPD said.

Dewayne Martin

An adult man was found dead on the scene April 20 in Russell, according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.

Around 7:15 a.m., police responded to the call of a stabbing at 1635 Plymouth Court, where they found that Dewayne Martin had been stabbed, officials said.

Police said the incident appears to be domestic and that all parties have been accounted for.

Samantha Thompson

An adult woman died in the early morning at University of Louisville Hospital after she was found on the 400 block of North 25th Street with gunshot wounds, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said in a press release.

On April 18, LMPD officers responded to the call of a shooting around 2:40 a.m. when they found the victim. Emergency services were called to the scene, Ellis said. Court documents show that Samantha Thompson, identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where she later died from a gunshot wound.

Ivan Caulder was arrested on June 2 in connection with Thompson's murder. Court documents show a witness said Caulder, also known as "I," was allegedly in a physical altercation with Thompson when he apparently "produced a handgun and shot the victim one time."

The witness later identified Caulder as the person who shot Thompson and he was charged with murder and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, court records show.

Keionte’ L. Ramsey

An adult man was found dead on the scene in the 1000 block of Bardstown Road, according to a release from Alicia Smiley, a Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson.

LMPD officers responded to a call of a shooting around 4:30 a.m. April 16 where they found 26-year-old Keionte’ L. Ramsey suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Smiley said. The man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition where he later died.

There have not been any arrests, Smiley said.

2 dead, 4 injured in Chickasaw Park mass shooting

Two people are dead and four are injured following a mass shooting in Chickasaw Park after someone fired shots into a crowd of hundreds April 15.

The Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the call of a shooting around 9 p.m. at Chickasaw Park on Southwestern Parkway, according to Alicia Smiley, an LMPD spokesperson.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds, including two adult men who died. One adult woman and three adult men were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital.

Police have yet to determine a motive or suspect.

Saturday's shooting is the second mass shooting in Louisville in less than a week with the Chickasaw Park incident following a shooting at Old National Bank on Monday that left six people dead and several others injured.

2 men dead, a woman in surgery after shooting in Old Louisville

Two men died and a woman is in surgery after a shooting in Old Louisville on April 15.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting before 4:30 a.m. in the 200 block of East Burnett and they found that three people had been shot, Alicia Smiley, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson, said. She said one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man and a woman were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where the man was pronounced dead. Smiley said on the morning of Sunday, April 16, that the woman's injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

The Homicide Unit is investigating if there is a connection between the three victims. Their identities were not released.

Two found dead: One on Mars Court; second at St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital

Police found a man fatally shot April 13 at Louisville's Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Third Division officers responded to a call about a shooting around 6 p.m. in the 5200 block of Mars Court and found a man who had been fatally shot, Alicia Smiley, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson said. She said the victim was not transported to the hospital. Police have not arrested anybody in connection to the shooting.

Smiley said after another shooting victim was taken to St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital by private means, where they were pronounced dead.

Smiley said police don't know if there is a connection between the shootings. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed and authorities are still investigating the incident.

Man found dead on Kentucky Street

A man was found dead on the 200 block of East Kentucky Street after he received trauma to his body, said Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Officers responded to the call of a "man down inside a residence at that location" just before 10 a.m. April 11, when they found the man, Ellis said.

Police did not specify what kind of trauma the man endured.

There are no known suspects, Ellis said.

Chea’von Moore

A 24-year-old man killed in a shooting at Jefferson Community & Technical College was identified as Chea'von Moore.

The shooting took place on Monday, April 10, the same day as a mass shooting at the downtown branch of Old National Bank, at 8th and Chestnut Streets around 11 a.m. Old National Bank is about 1.5 miles from JCTC, and officials said the two shootings are unrelated.

Louisville Metro Police Maj. Russell Miller said multiple suspects could be involved as of April 12. There are no suspects, he said.

A second victim was injured and taken to the hospital.

Chrishawn Philpot, 26, was arrested Aug. 7 in connection with the shooting. Philpot was charged with murder (complicity), first-degree assault (complicity) and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

Old National Bank: Tommy Elliott, Jim Tutt Jr., Josh Barrick, Juliana Farmer, Deana Eckert, shooter

Tommy Elliott, 63, Jim Tutt Jr., 64, Josh Barrick, 40, Juliana Farmer, 45, and Deana Eckert, 57, were the victims of a mass shooting that injured several others and resulted in the death of the shooter at the downtown Louisville branch of Old National Bank.

A gunman opened fire at 333 E. Main St. on April 10, and officials from the Louisville Metro Police Department said officers responded within about three minutes and that the shooter was dead within nine minutes of their response.

As of Thursday, April 13, six patients had been released from the University of Louisville Hospital, according to Heather Fountaine, media relations manager for the hospital. Two patients remained in care, including officer Nickolas Wilt, who remains in critical condition after a brain surgery performed last week. Another patient was in stable and fair condition, Fountaine said.

The shooter, Connor Sturgeon, was killed by police.

Theresa Thomas

An woman is dead after a shooting April 2 in the West End, according to Alicia Smiley, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD officers responded to the call of a shooting about 8:45 p.m. at 10th and Broadway where they found a woman who'd been shot inside a gas station, Smiley said.

Emergency services pronounced her dead on the scene, police said.

The woman who was killed was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 44-year-old Theresa Thomas.

Martell D. Hall Jr.

A man was found dead April 1 after a shooting in Russell, according to Alicia Smiley, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department.

LMPD responded to the call of a shooting at the 1900 block of West Broadway just before 7 p.m. where they located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound inside a vehicle, Smiley said. Nineteen-year-old Martell D. Hall Jr. was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said there have not been any arrests.

Teenager dead after shooting at 28th Street and Broadway

A teenager was found dead after a shooting Monday night, according to Aaron Ellis, a Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson.

LMPD responded to the call of a shooting at 28th Street and Broadway around 8:30 p.m., where they found a male thought to be in his late teens suffering from gunshot wounds, Ellis said. He was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency services.

There are no known suspects, police said.

Woman dead after shooting in Russell neighborhood

One woman is dead after a shooting in the Russell neighborhood March 26, according to Dwight Mitchell, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department.

At about 11:15 p.m., LMPD officers responded to the call of a shooting at the 2700 block of West Madison Street, where they found an adult man and adult woman whom had been shot. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene, and the man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, police said.

There are no suspects, police said.

Eric King Jr. and Hayley Meadors

Eric King Jr. and Hayley Meadors, both 25, are dead after a shooting in the Shawnee neighborhood March 25, according to Kimberly Smith, deputy coroner.

LMPD officers responded to the call of a shooting at the 100 block of North 38th Street about 5 p.m., where they found an adult male and and adult female with gunshot wounds. They were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where they later died, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

There are no suspects in custody, police said.

Woman dies after shooting in Airport Boulevard

A woman died March 24 after a shooting in Louisville's Airport Boulevard, Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD Seventh Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 9 p.m. at the 6100 block of Airport Boulevard and found a woman who had been shot, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. He said the victim received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitchell said the LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating and there are no suspects in custody.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Man dies after assault in St. Dennis neighborhood

A man died on March 16 after being assaulted in Louisville's St. Dennis neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Second Division officers responded to a call about an assault after 11 p.m. in the 3800 block of Oboe Drive and found a man who "had been struck several times during the assault," LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley said. She said the victim was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital and pronounced dead. No additional details were released.

Smiley said there are no suspects and that the homicide unit is investigating the incident.

The victim has not been identified.

Teenager shot and killed on Tazwell Drive

A teenage male was found dead at the scene on March 14 after suffering from gunshot wounds, said Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police.

Around 1:45 a.m., police responded to a call of a shooting at 11400 block of Tazwell Drive, Ellis said.

Emergency services was called, police said. There are no known suspects.

The teen was identified on March 15 as 16-year-old Antavious Roberts.

Woman found dead by I-65

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating after a woman who had been shot and killed was found in a grassy area by Interstate 65 North near Woodbine Street in the early morning hours of Feb. 25.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has not yet identified the woman who was killed.

Carlos Vera Valdes

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that killed a man on Feb. 24 in Smoketown.

Fourth Division officers took the call about the shooting in the 900 block of Waterman Alley near East Breckinridge Street at about 8 p.m. that night, the department said, and found an adult man who had been shot and was pronounced dead on the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating. No arrests have taken place.

The man was later identified as 19-year-old Carlos Vera Valdes by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

Darionte Coleman

A 27-year-old man was found dead on Feb. 18 in Louisville's Bon Air neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Sixth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting in the 2300 block of Terrier Court approximately at 8:20 p.m. and found a man who had been shot several times, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Alicia Smiley said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 27-year-old Darionte Coleman.

Smiley said 29-year-old Deterrius Brown was arrested in connection to the homicide following a police pursuit, according to court documents. Officers reportedly found a rifle in his car that matched with casings found at the scene and he later confessed to the killing while being questioned by police.

Brown now face a murder charge in relation to the shooting. It was unclear when he would appear in court.

Alonzo Palmer

A man died on Feb. 10 after a shooting on Louisville's Phoenix Hill neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at 10:30 p.m. in the 600 block of East Muhammad Ali Boulevard and found a man who had been shot, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

He said the victim was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital where he later died due to his injuries.

Mitchell said the homicide unit is investigating and there are not any suspects at the moment.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said on March 1 the victim was identified as 15-year-old Alonzo Palmer IV.

Christopher Adams

An "obviously deceased" body was found on West Jefferson Street, said Matthew Sanders, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police.

Police responded to a "call for service" to a home on the 2700 block of Jefferson St., in the Russell neighborhood, around 9 a.m. on Feb. 5, Sanders said. Police said "foul play is suspected."

David Alan Smith was arrested the same day by the department's homicide unit in connection with the murder, LMPD said in a release.

The victim was later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as Christopher Adams, 58. Multiple blunt and sharp force injuries were cited as the cause of death.

Zachee Imanitwitaho

A person was found shot to death Feb. 3 in the parking lot of the JBS Swift pork production facility located in the 1300 block of Story Avenue in Butchertown. Officers with the First Division responded about 3:18 p.m. to the reported shooting, according to LMPD.

The victim was a JBS employee, LMPD spokesman Matt Sanders said, adding "very preliminary information" indicates it may have been an "isolated incident" in the parking lot.

LMPD said Edilberto Reyes, 58, was arrested in connection with the case and turned himself in at Metro Corrections following the shooting.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of one of our Louisville team members that took place outside of our facility this afternoon," Nikki Richardson, a spokeswoman for Colorado-based JBS USA, told The Courier Journal. "Our sincere condolences go out to the individual’s family and loved ones. We are assisting police with the ongoing investigation however we can."

The victim was later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 26-year-old Imanitwitaho Zachee from Louisville.

Mark Lucas

LMPD is investigating after a man was killed on Feb. 2 in a shooting in St. Dennis.

Second Division officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 3400 block of Buckeye Road at about 8:30 a.m. that morning, according to a statement from the department. Officers found a man who had been shot at the scene, who was pronounced dead by EMS officials who were called to the site.

The victim was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 61-year-old Mark E. Lucas. The release said he died of gunshot wounds.

LMPD's homicide unit is handling the investigation.

Fatal shooting on Leverett Lane

A man who was shot on Jan. 31 in southwestern Louisville died two days later, according to LMPD.

Third Division officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 6700 block of Leverett Lane that afternoon just before 4 p.m., according to the department. A man who had been shot was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Feb. 2.

The man who was killed has not yet been identified, and no suspects have been arrested.

Andrew Valdez

Police are investigating a fatal shooting reported Jan. 30 in Crescent Hill.

Fifth Division LMPD officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 5:30 p.m. that Monday afternoon in the 100 block of N. Birchwood Avenue, according to a release from the department, where they found an adult man who had been shot. He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later reported dead on Jan. 31.

The victim was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 35-years-old Andrew E. Valdez from Jeffersonville, Indiana.

LMPD's homicide unit is handling the case, according to the release, and all parties are believed to be accounted for.

Kenneth Maier

A man was pronounced dead on Jan. 26 after LMPD officers found him shot in Louisville's Irish Hill neighborhood.

Fifth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting just before 4 p.m. in the 500 block of Cooper Street where they found a man shot, LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley said. She said man was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS officers.

Smiley said the department's homicide unit was investigating the incident. In February, LMPD said a 14-year-old juvenile had been arrested and charged in the case.

The victim was identified on Jan. 30 by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 51-year-old Kenneth Maier.

Man charged with domestic violence murder over shooting

A woman was killed in a shooting on Jan. 24 and a man has been charged with domestic violence murder in the aftermath, according to LMPD.

Sixth Division officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 6:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Breckenridge Lane, a release from the department said. A woman who had been shot was found at the scene and was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where she was pronounced dead that night.

Brendan L. Bell, 21, was charged with domestic violence murder and receiving stolen property (firearm) in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, a separate LMPD release said. Bell was the boyfriend of the victim, police said. His arrest citation was not immediately available.

The woman who was killed has not yet been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

Man dies 2 weeks after Woodgate Lane shooting

A man injured in a shooting in early January near Klondike and Buechel died two weeks later on Jan. 24, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

Sixth Division LMPD officers initially responded to a call about a shooting at about 7:15 a.m. on Jan. 10 in the 4400 block of Woodgate Lane, the department said at the time. An adult male who had been shot was taken to the hospital at that time with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

According to a release from the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, though, the man who was shot was pronounced dead just before 2 a.m. on Jan. 24. He was identified by the office as 42-year-old Timothy Greer.

LMPD is investigating and no arrests have been announced.

Marcus Cambron

A man died following a shooting on Baxter Avenue on the evening of Jan. 15, police said.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said police were dispatched to the 900 block of Baxter Avenue at around 5 p.m. Officers found a man there who had been shot.

He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he later died.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Marcus Cambron.

Mitchell said all suspects in the case have been identified.

Javarius Hendrix

A 14-year-old boy was killed in a shooting on Brentwood Avenue on Jan. 15, according to a report from LMPD.

Officers were called to the 900 block of Brentwood Avenue at around 3 p.m. on the report of a shooting, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. The boy received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Javarius Hendrix.

Mitchell said officials have suspects in the case, but did not offer additional details.

Two dead on Vermont Avenue

Two adult males died after suffering gunshot wounds after police responded to a report of a shooting Tuesday evening, according to Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for LMPD.

Officers located the two men in the 3100 block of Vermont Ave., and one was pronounced dead on the scene, Ellis said. The other man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he "succumbed from his injures shortly after arriving," according to police.

A juvenile on the scene was taken to the university hospital as well, and Ellis said their injuries appear non-life-threatening.

Detectives are canvassing the area, police said. There are no suspects at this time.

Adult female found dead on Sale Avenue

An adult female was found dead on the scene after suffering gunshot wounds just after midnight on Sunday morning on the 1400 block of Sale Avenue, according to Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for LMPD.

The Louisville Metro Police Department was responding to gunfire elsewhere, and as they were doing so, a ShotSpotter and call for shooting came in, Ellis said. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection program.

There are currently no suspects, police said.

Fatal shooting in Taylor Berry

A woman was shot and killed shortly after midnight Jan. 8 in the Taylor Berry neighborhood, LMPD officials said.

Officers heard gunfire while on patrol and soon responded to the shooting in the 1400 block of Sale Avenue. There, they found a woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman has not been identified, and police have not named any suspects.

Mitchell Eddings

A man was killed in a shooting just before 1 a.m. Jan. 6 in Parkland, according to LMPD.

LMPD officers responded to the shooting in the 1000 block of S. 26th Street, according to department spokesperson Aaron Ellis. A man who had been shot was found inside a vehicle at the scene, where he was pronounced dead.

The man who was killed was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office later that morning as 69-year-old Mitchell Eddings.

No suspects have been named.

Paul A. Turner

Louisville's sixth homicide of the year was reported on Jan. 3 following a shooting in southwestern Louisville.

Third Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at about 4:45 p.m., according to department spokesperson Aaron Ellis, in the 8300 block of Arnoldtown Road. A man who had been shot was found on the scene – he was taken by EMS to University of Louisville Hospital, Ellis said, where he was later pronounced dead.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating and Ellis said all parties involved have been accounted for.

The man who was killed was later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 42-year-old Paul A. Turner.

Jeremiah Buckner

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at about 1:20 p.m. that Tuesday near Esquire Alley and Roy Wilkins Avenue. At the scene they found an adult man who had been shot and was pronounced dead on site, according to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

The department's homicide unit is investigating and no suspects have been publicly identified.

The man who was killed was later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's office as 42-year-old Jeremiah Buckner.

Overnight homicide in Parkland

LMPD officers are investigating a homicide that took place in the early morning hours of Jan. 3, the fourth fatal shooting of the year in Louisville.

Second Division officers responded to the call in the 2700 block of W. Kentucky Street at about 2 a.m., according to department spokesperson Aaron Ellis, where they found an adult woman who had been shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD arrested John T. Jagoe Aug. 23, and he was charged with one count of murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, according to Ellis.

Dorion Tisby

A man died Jan. 2 after being found shot about 12:05 a.m. in the 400 block of East Oak Street in Shelby Park. LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said 4th Division officers found the man severely injured after responding to a call and he was transported to University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition.

Mitchell said shortly after 10 a.m. that the man had died. He was later identified as 24-year-old Dorion Tisby.

On Feb. 8, court records show 19-year-old Lloyd Mason was arrested and charged with murder in the case. In his arrest citation, he was accused by LMPD of crashing a car into an LMPD vehicle and being apprehended after fleeing the scene. Several weapons were found in the car that matched shell casings that were found at the scene of the shooting, according to the citation.

Diunta Cross

A man was found shot in the early morning of Jan. 2, and he later succumbed to his injuries.

LMPD officers responded to the 1600 block of Beechwood Avenue at 1:30 a.m., where they found a man who was shot. He was transported to University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died, police said.

The man who was killed was later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 36-year-old Diunta Cross.

On Jan. 16, LMPD said in an email that 35-year-old Naji Lee Hughes, who also goes by Lee Hughes, had been arrested and charged with murder over the shooting. He's pleaded not guilty, according to court records.

Reginals Speight

Louisville's first homicide of the year was reported on the first night of the year.

Second Division LMPD officers responded to a report of a shooting at 9:15 p.m. Jan. 1 in the 1800 block of W. Gaulbert Avenue, Mitchell said. Officers on the scene found a man who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as Reginald Speight, 28.
