First Annual 'Experience Greenwich Week' Oct. 22-28

GREENWICH, CT — Designed as a showcase to promote the town as a wonderful place to live, work and play, the inaugural "Experience Greenwich Week" launches next week, created by members of the town's economic development initiative.

"Our goal with Experience Greenwich Week is to support the local businesses that make our town a true destination," said Greenwich First Selectman Peter J. Tesei in a statement. "With this initiative, we can help support the many cultural institutions, art galleries, incredible restaurants and shops that make Greenwich what it is today."

Greenwich-based event marketing company TMK Sports & Entertainment organized the week, gathering together more than 150 merchants, restaurants and fine art galleries to participate.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the town's "Think Greenwich" public relations campaign, a branding initiative developed by Tesei's Economic Advisory Committee. The 15-member committee is made up of a cross-section of community, civic and business volunteers, which helped to spearhead the seeding of Think Greenwich with a combined $90,000 contribution from the town and local businesses.
