Firkin Friday kicks off Parade Day events in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Festivities kicked off Friday, March 1, as the tapping of the Firkin started the countdown to the Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade Day.

The Saint Patrick’s Parade Association of Lackawanna County started the countdown clock at 5:00 p.m. with a special Firkin Friday event at Cooper’s Seafood House located at 701 North Washington Avenue in Scranton.

Admission to Firkin Friday is free and all proceeds go directly to Officer Kyle Gilmartin’s family on behalf of the Saint Patrick’s Parade Association and Coopers Seafood.

The celebration continues through 7:00 p.m. counting down until Scranton’s 2024 Saint Patrick’s Parade scheduled for Saturday, March 9.
