Fires Burn in Paris on First Anniversary of Yellow Vest Protests

Bonfires were erected in Paris on November 16 as protesters marked the first anniversary of the Gilet Jaunes (Yellow Vest) demonstrations.

Footage shows riot police near the bonfire, with tear gas smoke in the near distance. The police had earlier called for the cancellation of the protest.

The interior ministry said: “firefighters and police intervene to contain the excesses.”
