A statement released on Wednesday morning said the Harvego family sold the restaurant to a group led by Arne Hyson and Mario Ortiz, the latter a person who has been involved with the restaurant for decades.

“It’s been an honor of a lifetime for the Harvego Family to have been a part of advancing the legacy of The Firehouse,” said Terry Harvego in the statement. “We have found the perfect fit to take the restaurant into its next chapter…”

The restaurant has operated for more than 60 years under two families and was named for the building’s original purpose when it was erected in 1853.
