Firefighters called to blaze in derelict flats

Firefighters tackled a blaze in a block of abandoned flats in Camborne in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Fire engines from Camborne and Hayle were called to the first-floor fire in Rosewarne Road just after 02:20 BST, as smoke was seen billowing from the building.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said two hose reels and two safety jets were used to tackle the fire, as well as six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
