Firefighter Injured in Rockfall While Working California Blaze

An injured firefighter was airlifted to safety over the Fork Fire in the San Gabriel Mountains in California on September 9.

The Special Enforcement Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department hoisted the firefighter, who was a “victim of rockfall,” and transported him to a trauma center for treatment.

The Fork Fire had covered 60 acres and was zero percent contained by the morning of September 10.
