UPDATE: Tye house fire likely caused by phone left on charger

TYE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A trailer home in Tye caught fire Wednesday, prompting a multi-department response.

Crews responded to the house on Concho Street at about 5:30 p.m.; the flames had been contained by 6:00 p.m. According to the Tye Fire Department, the fire was likely caused by a mobile phone left on the charger unattended, though this is still under investigation.

The Merkel, Potosi, Tye, and View Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the fire that caused significant damage to the structure, but no injuries were reported.
